My husband surprised me with a 60th birthday party in the Gazebo Room. What an amazing night! The staff did a wonderful job. The girls were courteous, friendly & very professional. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner! Would highly recommend!!
Recently had dinner here and had not been here in a while. Now I remember why. My prime rib dinner was luke warm at best. The menu is dressed up as glorified pub food that is overpriced. The drinks are way overpriced also. The bartender needs to be trained in customer service. Blond lady with straight hair and about 45. This place needs a full gut as the decor is old and tired.
What a hidden gem!!! Such a wonderful meal with awesome friends! Bobby C's has a great Surf and Turf deal on Fridays! What a great meal, all of us had it!!! My steak was great and I also loved my lobster tail! Order the cheesecake appetizer to share before hand and I also recommend the bacon wrapped scallops! Lorraine salad is a must when we go there too, I never have enough room for dessert!
My husband and I went to Bobby Cs on Sept. 25/11 to celebrate our anniversary. While the view was nice from the patio and it wasn't busy, WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. First off, my husband asked for his steak to be cooked medium-well. It came CHARRED BLACK and was barely edible! He ordered a side of onions with it, he got ONE SLICE...I repeat ONE quarter-inch thick SLICE of an onion and was charged $4 for it! When we received the bill, we were both OVERCHARGED for our meals. We told the waitress and she said "oh, those are old prices on the menu, they've gone up since then"!. Are you serious! Then update your menu!. Not impressed at all, they lost our business and everyone else we can tell about our TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
I have visited this place several times over the past few years and find it quite incredible that the restaurant is still functioning. This is a place that promises at least the standard of a Keg restaurant but delivers with 'Nick's Truck Stop' without the home cooking. I always order the mussels and basil/tomatoe sauce because it seems one dish that the consistently incompetent chef can mess up. Still, on my last visit, the mussels were presented as 'dry' with just bare evidence of a sauce. On another occasion, I ordered the seafood platter, hoping that at least they can put frozen food in the oven. The seafood was presented as overcooked and dry and in some cases inedible. Forget dipping into the promised clarified butter, instead one gets a plate with a few butter pats that one gets at any Truck Stop in rural ontario. When I asked for the melted butter over a flame, it was delivered but one has to ask: Why didn't they do that in the first place? Good grief. My friend read the description for pizza and found it quite inviting. It arrived and, no kidding, was presented to him with strips of processed cheese slices on top. This is below the worst one could imagine. It was inedible. Recently, my friend ordered some crab cakes and a steak and found it edible but surely at the pretentious prices this places charges it should have been at least ' good'. There is simply no excuse for any restaruant that is basically steak and seafood to not hire a competent cooking staff. Ontario's community colleges produce excellent chefs who would be willing to work at a place like this. But this borders on a sham. On the whole the staff are pleasant even if they are not well-trained and can be either overly friendly or neglectful. It wouldn't take much to turn this place around and make it a tough reservation for those prices. It gets by with its association with the harbour and boats but it is definitely low-end and it doesn't have to be. If you don't want to spend close to $20.00 for an entree at dinner, too bad. You're not allowed to have a burger after 3pm. The burgers are good and so is the toasted western; good and tasty truck stop fare. Otherwise, you are going to spend well over $100.00 for a disappointing dinner for two with wine.
With my family, visited this venue on a whim trying to find a hidden gem. We went on a Friday night where it was moderately busy - 60% occupancy. My wife and I had the steak and lobster entree with salad. Also tried the calamari appetizer to start. My 10 year old daughter had the chicken nuggets meal from the kids menu. Calamari was good but nothing special. Salads were also average in both quality and quantity. 8oz Steak was done to our specification, but was of average quality and texture. Lobster tail was good and looked to be a 2-3oz size. Kids eat free on Wednesdays so if you want to save $6 for the child, try this place mid week. Service was friendly, but average as well. Overall impression is average...no gem here, but not a flop either.
We have held our annual family reunion at Bobby C's for a few years and until this year had been satisfied with the food & service. Unfortunately this year we were subjected to the worst conditions ever. There were 32 of us seated at the largest, most requested table there with a view of the boats & water. What should have been a happy occasion was not. The temperature was in the 30's and the air conditioning was not working. We tried to open the windows but they were without handles and would not open. We complained to our servers numerous times but they just said that the A/C was not working and had not been for a while. They did nothing to help us open the windows. We complained each time the servers came to our table and a few of us went searching for them to see if they could do something about it. We were mostly dismissed, they were too busy they said and they would see what they could do later, after they did this or that or .... It took about an hour and a half for the staff to do something to ease our discomfort. Finally they fetched the window handles. We suffered for all that time, fanning ourselves, melting from the unbearable heat, blotting sweat off our bodies and going outside to cool down. A few family members had to go outside numerous times because they had breathing problems and a few almost passed out from the heat. I had been in communications with the manager a number of times and was upset that he did not inform me in advance of the problem with the air conditioning. Had I known, I could have made reservations somewhere.else. Although the manager wrote that he didn't know about the AC problem it is hard to believe that the staff knew that the problem had existed for some time ... but he didn't. The majority of us are not young, most of us are retired , many of us have health problems and the excessive heat was extremely hard on us. We were in great discomfort and as a result we could hardly eat nor enjoy our reunion. We had driven from great distances to attend this reunion. As I said there were 32 of us there that day and a lot of money was spent on lunch and tips. We feel we deserved better. After a letter of complaint we were offered a complimentary drink, appetizer or dessert but none of us wanted to travel the immense distance to accept this offer. What could have been a lovely reunion was spoiled. We had been looking forward to this reunion for a year. None of us would ever go to Bobby C's again nor recommend it to anyone. We are now on the hunt for another restaurant where we can hold our reunions. What a shame, they could have had a long standing reservation for many years but their lack of attention to detail & customer satisfaction ended that. Never again ... !
First visit, sat on the patio, it was nice but once we had ordered the service was slow despite the place not being too busy. I got the Steak and Shrimp for $23.99 added Garlic Mushrooms for an extra $3.99 and chose mashed potatoes as a side. The appetizers were very small and over priced, Three "2-bite" crab cakes with a cheap mayo dip for $12.99, as with any other restaurant the Spinach dip was very small and covered in processed cheese, totally not worth the $8.99 that it cost. I ordered the steak medium, it came well done(charred black on the outside and brown on the inside), it was very tough. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and obviously prepared hastily well in advance. The Shrimp was terrible, very over cooked, very rubbery. This was disappointing because I LOVE shrimp. The meal came with a tomato oven-baked with basil and feta, the tomato wasn't ripe and was very hard in texture and bitter in taste. The four dollar extra mushrooms were small but decent, definitely the best part of the meal. I could only eat half of the meal before a large spider dropped from an overhanging tree onto my plate. Everyone else with me enjoyed their meals, so I may go back for a burger or pasta, but I will not get steak or seafood again. The waitress was attentive to my concerns with the quality of the meal, and she spoke with the manager who kindly removed my dinner from the bill, but there was no apology or offer to replace the meal or get me anything else. Based on that alone I will not return unless I'm socially obliged to do so, and if that is the case I'll probably just order a burger.
I am not sure what happened with the previous review but we had an exceptional dinner as well as service. They were more than accomadating. The meal was awesome. The salad was a nice change from the ordinary. I am looking forward to going back in the summer and sitting on the patio. Worth the try.
This place is going downhill so fast. Service is questionable. Staff seem more interested in joking around with each other. Portion sizes are pathetic for the price. ($20 for a tiny piece of fish). I hate leaving a restaurant hungry, but we all did. Will definitely NOT be back.
I have been 3 times to the buffet and would go again.
I have been to This place twice. First time service was terrrible and my Prime Rib was cold and the portion size was small. Second time I order Chicken wings, thankfully I ordered them plain with sauce on the side because they where not cooked. I ended debating with the waitress about where they were cooked all that she said was the owner cooks the wings to temperature. As far as I am concerned you are taking a chance, if you dine here.
A very pleasent visit, server was excellent (Julie) food was good as always
Everything was hot, taste was bang on, and our server Dave was very professional. A nice change on their new seafood menu, great items to choose from.
Everything was great, server went out of her way to make our night perfect. Better in the summer for atmosphere out on thier patio. Can't wait!!
Awsome, Awsome, Awsome!!! Food was great, I'm so happy to get AAA beef (cooked perfectly) and FRESH SEAFOOD, so many restaurants say they serve AAA beef when really it's not even worth 2 cents! Bobby C's well done. You guys are doing a fabulous job!! I'll be back!
I'd been to Bobby C's many times when it was the Marina, and a couple of times since it's been Bobby C's...and the place is seriously slipping. The hostess started off the night by ignoring us to flirt with one of the other workers, and then was snappy when we asked to be seated in a booth. The salads were wilted and barely had any dressing on them. The prime rib was cold over cooked and tough, and had to be sent back twice until it was hot. The chicken wings were a ridiculously small portion for the price and were of course cold. The waitress was rude and instead of serving us was spending all her time chatting with the ditzy seating hostess and making dirty jokes with the bus boys, and gave an evil death glare when she saw she didn't get a tip. Pretty sad how much this place has gone downhill, it used to be great.
Everyone kept warning us about how the quality of the food has declined lately but we decided to go for old times sake. It was a pleasant evening on the deck but that is the only positive thing I can say. The salad was wilted and tasteless. The prime rib was very overcooked and tough. The ribs were charred and nasty. The variety of vegetables served with each entree must have been cooked separately because some were tasteless, some were too salty and some were overcooked. The first glass of wine was served in a ridiculously small glass and the second one was served in a warm and soapy glass. The waiter was attentive and friendly enough so we gave him a good tip even though the meals weren't worth paying for.
Food was ok. Could have been better. Serive couldn't asked for more.
Good dining experience, at probably the best destination around, there is nowhere with scenery like this place has!
