Stepping inside this cozy, locally-owned tanning salon, you can be sure you’ll be greeted with an infectious smile from the charismatic owner, Karma Samji. “I treat everyone like they are family or close personal friends,” smiles Karma. “It’s definitely the people that make running this business the best.”
Karma is a natural fit for the service industry. Prior to taking ownership of Majestic Tanning in 2010, she owned and operated a restaurant in Nisku. “My husband got really tired of me driving out there every day, so he said, ‘let’s do an easier business’ thinking tanning would be easier,” laughs Karma. “I suppose it is, compared to the restaurant industry, but it’s still a lot of work. Thankfully it’s just as much fun.”
