I stopped in expecting a little diner where I could get a spaghetti and meat balls. I was surprised to find that Danny's is a lot more than that, a fine dining experience right alongside the highway. We have visited many Italian reataurants throughout Ontario from Brockville to Niagara Falls, Oshawa to North Bay and Avanti's in Oshawa is number one. Not because we live here, because of the food, the service, the friendly atmosphere and the cleanliness of this establishment. Their Fusilli in Bianco is our favorite. We have dined there many times before Oshawa Generals Hockey games and Shows at the newly renovated Regent Theatre. And we are so proud to mention Avanti's everywhere we go. It's been years since I had been to an East Side's, as I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh, quick, and the service was good. The food wasn't as heavy and bland as I expected, but light and flavourful. I judged too quickly, and will give this place another shot when we crave some Italian. Lire plus

Nice touches on their meals. Portions are not over sized, which is good if you don't want to overeat! I've had veal parmigiane (sp?) and the salmon with some unique sauce. The vegetables have been spectacular both times and like I said before, the presentation is pleasing. The house wine (by the glass) is decently priced and quite good. It is a bit pricey though. I would only go back for a very special occasion with my husband. It is a very romantic atmosphere. I am looking forward to going again. Lire plus

We were greeted at the door by a respectful very friendly young woman named kirsten, then brought to our nice roomy comfortable booth at the side of the restaurant. we were greeted by our server straight away, Tina, who Brought our first round of drinks. Once we saw the menu we ordered nice and quickly, the menu was quite detailed. Salad and bread was brought to our table and the feast began. when tina brought our food to the table i joked that i might have to take it home. I was able to eat a couple of pieces and she kindly packed the rest up for me. I enjoyed the NY theme in this resaurant. Decided to try Zola's breakfast again...it was excellent. I had breakfast several months previously and did not find it very good. However this visit was excellent. I had the breakfast special...two eggs over easy with sausage and homefries. The eggs and sausage were very good. The home fries are at least equal to any I have tasted in the city. breakfast come with a fabulous fresh fruit cup and a rosemary spiced grilled tomatoe and great artisan ancient grain bread.
