Luppolo Brewing Co Ltd

1
1123 Venables St, Vancouver BC V6A 2E3

Luppolo – which means ‘hops’ in Italian – opened in October 2016 on Venables just west of Clark. Two of the four owners have Italian backgrounds and this helped influence the menu and vibe of the overall space. Beer options include an IPA, saison, sour, farmhouse ale and more. As for the food? Think Italian flatbreads, charcuterie boards and antipastos.

Faculty Brewing Co.

1830 Ontario St, Vancouver BC V5T 2W6

Faculty, tucked away on Ontario Street, between 2nd and 3rd, opened in August 2016 and is Vancouver’s first open source brewery. Faculty – a name play on one of the owners' experience as a professor – aims to be an open environment where patrons can ask questions about craft beer. They also share their recipes online. The brewery serves up pale ales, stouts, saisons and more.

Britannia Brewing Co.

250-12240 Second Ave, Richmond BC V7E 3L8

In August 2016, Britannia Brewing in Richmond opened their doors. The brewery itself is in Eastern Richmond, whereas the restaurant and tasting room is in Western Richmond in the Village of Steveston. Due to the restaurant’s location on Richmond’s waterfront, the menu has a seafood focus and the décor is nautical-inspired. Beers include a blonde ale and pale ale.

Strathcona Brewery

895 Hastings St E, Vancouver BC V6A 1R8

Strathcona Beer Company opened in July 2016 at Hastings and Campbell. The owners have lived in the neighbourhood for a long time – and aim to create the friendly, community vibe that Strathcona is known for. They’ve got fun merch, a fridge of 40 oz bottles and a pizza oven. Oh, and let’s not forget the beer: mainstays include a pilsner, porter, golden ale and IPA.
