In 2009, Sandra Millar decided that Port Perry’s main street needed a year-round Christmas store. A store filled with a selection of festive decorations from all around the globe. She started in a small shop, but after only two Christmases moved into a 4000 square foot heritage building and added a clothing section and a café. Millar’s Market was born, but her all-year Christmas shop is still the cornerstone of the business. “It’s kind of personal with me,” she says. “I have a list of Christmas products I’d like to get and I make a point of crossing something off my list each year. It’s a labour of love.”
Not relegated to the snowy months, Sandra’s labour of love buzzes all year round, especially in the sunny summer months. “Tourists to Port Perry who know they won’t be back before Christmas stock up during the summer,” says Sandra. You can pick up an array of unique festive decorations here including Russian stacking dolls, classic Royal Doulton ornaments, Waterford crystal, Swarovski and Department 56 Christmas villages. There’s even a room devoted to themed ornaments to help you deck your halls just the way you like.
