We were apprehensive to go here as we weren't sure how sushi would be in Orillia! We were totally impressed with our bento boxes! Lots of food and it was all very delicious! Only thing we were disappointed in was the miso soup but that was minor! Everything else was hot, fresh and delish!
We were in a hurry and felt like sushi. We had read reviews about this place and decided to give it a try. We walked in at lunchtime and we were the only ones there. We were given menus and decided on our meals right away. Our miso soups and salads came out within five minutes. The bento boxes took a while. When the bento boxes finally came, we dug in. The sushi rolls fell apart easily, and the beef in the beef teriyaki was undercooked. The server wasn't very courteous nor was he kind. After about an hour, my stomach hurt and I was in the bathroom for about 15 minutes. We would never go back to this place and would never recommend it to anyone.
I nice option for something different in Orillia. The service is fast, the food is good, and the menu is vast. The sushi is carefully-crafted, well-presented, and the portions are large. Like most sushi restaurants, the bento boxes are a great option.
I have been going to Aji Sushi for years (since it first opened) and on average go twice a week (went there again today - 3rd time this week alone). The service is always amazing, the food is some of the best sushi I have ever had in my life - came from Vancouver BC and Aji Sushi by far beats all of them hands down. It is ALWAYS fresh, the food prep station is spotless. This is the only restaurant all of my work collegues (and I work at a large educational instituition in Orillia) swear by when deciding where to go for lunch or dinner. The price is also very affordable. If you haven`t tried it yet I strongly suggest you do. If you aren`t a sushi fan, they have many other Japanese dishes as well! OH and they are very accommodating to my picky tastes. I always alter the rolls I order - so much so that they even put my roll on the menu!! Amazing place.
The atmosphere was very casual and the wait staff are very friendly and fairly attractive. I brought my 90 year old grandmother and the rest of the family as she had never tried sushi before. She is a fan now and has regretted never trying it before.
Service was excellent, sushi was fresh and price was very reasonable. I can't see why others would have a bad experience, i have been there many times and each time is just excellent!
Would not go back the atmosphere of the restaurant was ok but over all the sushi wasn't great but the worst that stuck out was the SERVICE......just utterly horrible.
Worst service ever. I'm a student and I have to say that the service provided by that young server was pretty bad. He took like 10 years to seat us and took forever to bring our menus. I had 1.5 hours for lunch and he pretty much took like 3 hours to get everything done. Eventually I was fed up and told him i wanted it to go and so he pack it all up for me (slowly) When I got back to school the sushi was not fresh and it had this horrible smell to it and they were just California rolls didn't even involve raw fish. My friends and I were pretty upset I highly Do not recommend this place to others.
Pretty Good quality sushi for a small town. Menu selection is relatively limited. I love their Red Dragon and Black Dragon Rolls. Service is a bit slow because the size of the place.
