With her youngest child ready to leave the family nest, Jag Sangara-Gill decided to return to the hair industry in 2008, opening The Shop Hair & Esthetics. “I had always loved the industry, so I decided to get back into it,” says Jag.
She chose Dunbar because she felt the neighbourhood needed a salon that was a little more upbeat and modern. “We do have clients who come from further away, but being in a smaller community most of our clients are local and from what they tell me we’ve really added to the neighbourhood and they love coming here,” says Jag proudly.
Jag and her team of experienced stylists and aestheticians offer a full range of quality services including cuts, styling, colour, colour correction, all natural hair extensions and smoothing treatments, as well as facials, waxing, threading and makeup. To complement their expert skills, the team carries reputable brands such as Kevin Murphy, Paul Mitchell, AG, Moroccan Oil and René Furterer. “We test all of the products to ensure they meet our standards of quality. And anything that we retail, we also use in the salon,” says Jag.
